I am Ahmed Rezika, an engineer, project manager, lecturer, trainer, writer, coach and a lifelong learner with an endless passion for knowledge and development. I am currently dedicating my efforts to creating better-managed, value-adding work environments and empowering individuals to take ownership of their growth. I enjoy enriching, empowering, and developing autonomous professionals who not only enhance their own capabilities but also amplify the impact of their teams and organizations.
I’ve explored many analogies between the digital technology world and maintenance practices, highlighting ways to enhance maintenance by learning from the evolution of digital tools. From my experience, digital technologies and systems often arrive in the maintenance domain later than in other disciplines. That’s why I focus on bridging the gap between what is already digitally available and proven, and how it can be applied effectively in maintenance. Whether looking forward to the future or reflecting on lessons from the past, I firmly believe that in maintenance, we should be at the forefront of early adoption, not trailing behind in a game of catch-up.
I like to emphasize that: “Maintenance shouldn’t play catch-up — we belong on the frontlines of digital innovation.”. I’ve often noticed that in maintenance, digital tools and technologies arrive fashionably late compared to other disciplines. That’s why I’m passionate about bridging the gap — connecting what’s already proven in the digital world with the unique realities of maintenance. Looking ahead, or even reflecting back, one thing is clear: maintenance shouldn’t be playing catch-up. We deserve to be on the frontlines of early adoption, exploring new technologies and shaping the future of our field rather than reacting to it.
In my books, I reflect this mindset by providing practical tools and guiding questions to help individuals take charge of their thinking and make more conscious, independent decisions. Through writing, training, and apps, I continue to support individuals in strengthening their skills, fostering balanced workplaces, and cultivating an approach that blends enjoying life with technical expertise and independent thinking.
I have spoken at maintenance conferences in the Gulf and Canada. Currently, I am focusing my efforts not only on empowering individuals but also on studying, practicing, and writing about AI in Life and Maintenance. You can find many of these articles on my blog and on the online IDCON-MaintenanceWorld Magazine.
I have enjoyed being a Projects and Maintenance Manager for over 25 years, gaining hands-on experience across the steel, cement, and food industries. I have worked with teams from different countries and cultures, enriching my perspective on leadership and collaboration. I am a certified PMP, MMP, and CMRP (2016–2024) professional—not just for the certifications themselves but as a personal benchmark to ensure I have reached a competent level in my field. I have successfully led both greenfield and upgrade projects, fostering a culture of growth and self-reliance within teams while promoting a healthy work-life balance.
